I've changed my blog's name; but why "Between Lattes"?

Time flies.  When I started this blog some 3½ years ago to document my week-long trip to India, never did I envisage that I'd still be writing on it today.  Or that I'd have the perseverance to write more than half a dozen posts before shelving what I started on the farthest metaphorical corner in the back of my mind - left there to fester and gather dust, out of sight.

Yet, more than 150 write-ups later, here I am still actively putting my thoughts into words and sharing them with whoever bothers to read about the occasional travel adventures and musings of a grumpy ol' barista and ex-banker.  Fact is, blogging has become an integral part of my life and, for now at least, I can't see myself not engaging in my passion for writing whenever I can.

Note I said whenever I can.

You see, my life revolves around my coffee shop; it's my bread and butter.  And as much as I'd give an arm and a leg to immerse myself in the romance of being a full-time travel blogger or photographer like some of you, the realist in me keeps me in constant check by pinching me each time that incurable romantic within rears its head.  Wake up, fool!  Three lattes; Table 6!

Help hasn't been easy to come by either; recruitment's been more than a challenge in the last 18 months or so.  I squarely attribute this to the fact that, to many of today's Gen-Y and Gen-Z populace, productivity is measured by the number of Candy Crush sweets they can stack n' match in an hour.  Or how much coins they earn from farm animals, trees and crops.

So that's how it is for me at the moment - undetachable from my coffee shop and being more hands-on than I'd like to be (or probably should).  Everything else - paperwork, customer relations, meals, daydreaming, planning for my next holiday and, of course, blogging - snugly (albeit not ideally) take their place between each latte that I make - hence "Between Lattes".  Having said that, it's a name I really like; it's short, it's catchy and, above all, it perfectly reflects what I do to keep a humble shirt on my back.  I think I'll stick to this one.

Thank you for dropping by, everyone.

    1. Thank you, KD! I'm glad you like it. The last 18 months or so have been a nightmare where staff recruitment is concerned. It's been 9:30 am to 11:00pm+ for Oi Len and me (but mostly me) for a while now. Always glad to have you drop in.
