One sky

One of the things bloggers like me find most exciting and socially-enriching is meeting other like-minded bloggers who share common interests and curiosities.

Over the last two days, five bloggers - now friends - from Malaysia to Argentina, spanning four continents, who'd met through the Big Blog Exchange 2014 spontaneously decided to share photographs of the sky above them.  No doubt to many, they're little more than dull, unexciting photographs of the sky - but to us, through these pictures, a curiosity is fed, an understanding forged and a bond built across 10,000 miles.  I feel blessed to have met the acquaintance of fellow bloggers Karien (South Africa), Deborah (France), Stephanie (Ireland) and Belen (Argentina).  Truly amazing ladies.

Thank you, Hostelling International, for bringing us together.  Here are our pictures.

Menacing rain clouds over Sandakan, Malaysia in mid-evening (Sept 12th)

Glorious spring noon in Kimberley, South Africa (Sept 12th)

Blue autumn skies over Saint-Pierre-du-Perray, France in the early-afternoon (Sept 12th)

Photogenic spring morning in Tigre, Buenos Aires, Argentina (Sept 12th)

Golden dusk in Donabate, County Dublin, Ireland (Sept 13th)

Remember, distance is but a number - for above us is the same temperamental, beautiful, glorious sky.  One sky.

At the end of the storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark
Walk on

  2. Love it, Vince. I share exactly the same sentiment: "...to us, through these pictures, a curiosity is fed, an understanding forged and a bond built across 10,000 miles." SO happy to have met all of you!
